If you have been a loyal player of Diablo 4 series, you will know that almost every season will provide you with some unique new mechanisms or gameplay. In addition to providing you with freshness, these new season elements can sometimes become your excellent season battle aid, allowing you to farm Diablo 4 gold more easily than in the past, such as the latest Witchcraft Power in Season 7.
There are many Witchcraft powers available for unlocking and use in Diablo 4 Season 7, but no matter which of them you want to have, besides collecting Grim Favors and Restless Rot for this, you must first complete a quest that can unlock Witchcraft power mechanism – Poison in the Roots.
In fact, this quest can not only unlock Witchcraft powers for you but also allow your game character to adapt to these new powers through the blasphemous rituals in the quest. However, since the quest includes multiple links and requires you to solve some difficult puzzles, we will provide you with a guide to complete Poison in the Roots, so that you can follow the following 3 steps to complete the quest.
1. Solve The Brazier Puzzle
First, you need to start your Season 7 main quest step by step. After collecting enough Grim Favors in it, you can start Poison in the Roots quest. The starting location of this quest is located in Tree of Whispers. Once you arrive there, you will find three witches trying to perform a ritual to help your character gain the first Witchcraft power, but they need your help to complete the entire ritual.
Once you arrive at Tree of Whispers, you need to talk to Gelena in the witches to start Poison in the Roots. It is worth mentioning that before starting the ritual, if you have obtained the right Diablo 4 items by completing other quests beforehand, you can make Occult Gems with Gelena.
Once the ritual begins, it will appear as a circle consisting of three braziers and three twisting snakes assembled by the witches. Next, the first step of your Poison in the Roots quest is to light these braziers in a specific order to summon the old name of Tree of Whispers. To do this, you need to pay attention to what the witches say, because they will say parts of the old name in order. Here is the correct order to light the braziers:
- Bottom Left Brazier: Ayh
- Bottom Right Brazier: Yew
- Top Brazier: Oun
After lighting the last brazier, some enemies will appear, and you need to kill them in time to get Diablo 4 Gold that may drop, while allowing the ritual to proceed smoothly. Fortunately, this is not difficult. In fact, the new class changes provided by Season 7 make it easy for you to defend the ritual circle by using skills.
2. Get And Use Nangri Blood
With the last brazier lit, you need to kill the snakes in the ritual circle immediately in order to get Nangri Blood they drop after death and the basic health potion – the latter allows you to better fight against the incoming enemies. However, you will find that even if you collect all three bottles of Nangri Blood, the game does not tell you how to use them in the ritual, but it doesn’t matter, we will bring you intimate instructions.
Simply walk up to any of the braziers you just lit and follow the blood around the perimeter of the ritual circle. Connect the blood around the ritual circle and you will notice that the flame of one brazier will go out and the area under your feet will begin to rumble.
At this point, the actual ritual will begin, as you have worked through the steps required to start it. However, you must be prepared for a fierce battle and follow another set of objectives while fighting off hordes of enemies.
3. Final Step
After Nangri Blood spreads, enemies will begin to spawn throughout the area, trying to disrupt the ritual, so you must prevent them from entering the ritual circle by eliminating them, as any enemy that enters the circle may contaminate the ritual. As the ritual continues, you will find that the gray bar inside the circle will also slowly deplete, which is actually a reminder to let you know how long your character needs to stay on defense.
Since enemies spawn from all directions, you need to try to stay close to the ritual circle in order to protect it from any angle in time. If your character has access to skills with large-area attacks, you can eliminate smaller groups of enemies before they reach the ritual circle, making the quest easier to complete. However, you don’t have to worry about the witches outside of the battle, because they will not be attacked and killed.
After entering the final stage of the battle, ordinary enemies will give way to elite monsters. These monsters have unique properties and abilities and will appear randomly, so you need to be fully prepared. At the end of the ritual, a small boss will appear and command the remaining minions to continue attacking you until the gray bar in the ritual circle becomes empty. At this time, all enemies on the field will die immediately and drop Diablo 4 Gold or other loot for you, which means the end of Poison in the Roots.
After leaving the ritual circle, you will have another conversation with the witch, and she will remind you that you may encounter more similar rituals in the future. After completing the ritual of Poison in the Roots, you will receive a legendary cache, which may contain a new unique item in Season 7, but even if it is not it, you can get other powerful gear through the cache.
After that, you can continue to advance your Season 7 storyline, earn more rewards, and find more Grim Favors to give to these witches in exchange for more new Witchcraft Powers. I hope you can have a great time in Diablo 4 Season 7!
